Ménière's disease

Ménière’s disease is a chronic inner-ear disorder that can cause episodes of vertigo, dizziness, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), pressure or fullness in the ear, and fluctuating hearing loss. These episodes can be unpredictable and deeply disruptive, affecting balance, confidence, emotional well-being, and day-to-day activities.

While Ménière’s is traditionally associated with inner-ear fluid imbalance, research and clinical observation also show a strong connection between upper cervical spine dysfunction, the brainstem, and the vestibular (balance) system. When the structures at the top of the neck (the atlas and axis) are misaligned, they may influence nerve communication, blood flow, cerebrospinal fluid dynamics, and overall balance system regulation.

Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic focuses on the delicate region where the brainstem, vestibular nuclei, cranial nerves, and balance pathways are located. Instead of twisting or forceful manipulation, the Blair approach uses precise imaging and gentle, customized corrections designed to restore balance and reduce tension within the nervous system.

Many individuals with Ménière’s disease seek Blair care because improving alignment around the brainstem region may help reduce nervous system irritation that can trigger vertigo, support steadier balance and body awareness, improve cerebrospinal fluid flow, calm vestibular system hypersensitivity, and improve the body’s ability to adapt to environmental or sensory changes. Although Blair chiropractic does not claim to cure Ménière’s disease, optimizing this area of the spine may help the body regulate more effectively and function with greater stability and ease.

The Blair method does not involve twisting, cracking, or popping the neck. Adjustments are customized to each patient using advanced imaging and are extremely gentle and specific. The goal is not to simply chase or suppress symptoms, but to improve long-term neurological communication and help the body maintain steadier balance, fewer flare-ups, and a greater sense of confidence and well-being.
